Family STEM Night
We had a first family STEM night last month. It was a huge success. Here are the totals. At least 65 different families, over 100 children, and 20+ staff members. Staff members set up different stations to visit. Some of those stations were, Technology and how to use it effectively at home, math fingerplays, using environmental blocks, painting with m&m's, and using Oobleck. We owe a special thanks to Mrs. Smith and Ms. Sarita for organizing our Social Services Table. In addition the UTK anthropology department for bringing different bones to be examined.
Sam E. Hill staff at Run for the Schools. This past Saturday some of our very own Sam E Hill Staff ran to support their school. Way to go Mr. Jesse, Ms. Dillard, Ms. Sims, Ms. Layden and Ms. Hampton.
90 years of Service
Sam E. Hill has been in the community since 1952, serving preschool children and their families. It has been supported by county government, Department of Human Services, and our local school system. We have implemented the Opening the World of Learning Curriculum, which is developmentally appropriate and enhanced by technology and parent/community involvement.
